Our Solution

So we've made it a part of our practice to just not tell the negative as much. We steer away from criticism and instead direct our light towards the positive. On one hand, that just feels better. On the other, there's already so much negativity out there, someone is bound to right what we'd wanna say anyway.

In Comes This

For those of y'all following the Bunker Buddies story this far. We're just about the opposite of a capitalism problem having left our podcast network, MaxFun, to have more direct control over what we put out there and interact with you, the audience.

It starts off giving a background on the theme with this.

The number of Americans who’ve tried meditation has tripled since 2012. And many are doing a specific practice with Buddhist roots called mindfulness, which involves directing your attention to your experience in the present moment with kindness and without judgment.

We personally love meditation and have even created a new fun form of it called Mind Adventures in our episode here.

Now, the mindfulness in and of itself isn't the bad thing, but like many topics we discuss on the podcast, it is a fix for a symptom, not the disease itself. It's a really good band-aid but we've got a major arterial wound here. The practice of meditation in many Buddhist communities is not to relieve stress, that's a nice byproduct, but to reach inner enlightenment.

In mindfulness, you focus on your breathing and you’re noticing your thoughts as they come and go. What I’m suggesting is that we expand on this and begin to identify where those thoughts are coming from.

In much the same way, we want our listeners to feel comfortable diving deep into their inner selves. We want you to swim in the sea of your own unknown and feel more positive and comfortable with it. Yes, we could worry about where those thoughts are coming from, or we could just skip ahead to what we really want. The thoughts to be positive, for them to bring about more joy, love, and spiritualism in our life.

What happens next? That's what we're brining about. A destigmatization of that personal inner quest. A societal change to appreciate the journey within. For that to take place we have to be more comfortable with the unknowns within our reality and our willingness to openly share what we each find there.

So let's all look inward, not for the benefits of a better life, but purely for the benefits of searching into the unknown. Then when we find something new. Let's fill it up with positivity and light.
